Nine Years Later

I have been meaning to start up this blog for a while now, well actually since November when I decided to pursue the VSG surgery. But with two kids and a full time job, I have been finding excuses to put it on a back burner. Recently, I had a talk with a friend and she actually challenged me to at least do one post, and I thought it would be appropriate to do one by May 25th, which is precisely 9 years since my first post using this platform.

Since my blog is called Sleeve Truth and Nothing but the Truth, I am going to be vulnerable and share my truth during this process, no matter how uncomfortable. I think that might actually be apart of the reason I have been avoiding starting this blog, because it’s not easy to just put everything out there for everyone, especially in the beginning stages of the VSG surgery process but I honestly think that it will help me by keeping me accountable.

Where do I even begin? I have been married for a little over ten years now, and I am a mom of two boys. My family really means the world to me, which is also a reason I want to proceed with this surgery and become healthier. My son keeps asking if the doctors will fix my knees so that I can run with him. I am honestly someone that sets goals and achieves them, and my weight has been a hurdle that I haven’t been able to overcome. I am determined to change that and I am excited and hopeful of what is to come and I hope that you will follow me as I embark on this new journey.
